Our modern teeth whitening treatments are comfortable and effective. At Dental Minds, we offer both Zoom in-office whitening and take-home whitening treatments.
Zoom whitening is a great option for those looking to whiten their teeth by several shades quickly and effectively. It uses a light-activated gel that not only whitens teeth but also protects tooth enamel and reduces tooth sensitivity as well.
Take-home whitening trays are great for maintaining a bright white smile, but the results are less dramatic than the more powerful in-office whitening options.
Causes of Stained Teeth
Dental health, diet, age, and genetics are the 3 main causes of stained and discolored teeth.
Regular brushing, flossing, and dental exams/cleanings remove plaque and bacteria that can make teeth appear discolored. Darkly pigmented foods and beverages — most commonly coffee and tea — also contribute to stained teeth. Finally, as they age, many people’s teeth will begin to yellow as the white outer enamel layer becomes thinner and more translucent.
Downsides of DIY Whitening Strips
Whitening strips you can buy over the counter often overpromise and underdeliver. The biggest issues people have are that:
