At Dental Minds in Logan Square, our dental veneers process is simple and produces results that are both beautiful and natural in appearance. Following your cosmetic consultation and planning of your treatment, our veneers process is quite simple. In fact, you can almost think of a veneer as a “partial crown.”
While a crown needs to cover the entirety of the tooth, veneers are prepared only on the front surface. After the tooth is prepared, an impression is taken to be sent to the lab. The lab will take around 2 weeks to manufacture the veneer. In the meantime, a temporary veneer will be bonded to the teeth. When the lab sends back the veneer, you’ll return to our office and the finished veneer will be bonded in place.
Veneer Options
When discussing veneers, our dentists consider a variety of factors, including:
- Tooth Alignment & Health: Veneers might not be the best option for everyone. For example, those with misaligned teeth may not be great candidates for veneers. In some cases, Invisalign can be used first to reposition the teeth before beginning a veneers treatment.
- Your Esthetic Goals: We must consider what you are hoping to achieve with your smile. Veneers aren’t able to fix every issue. So we’ll discuss your goals and find the best cosmetic option for you.
We offer a wide variety of veneers, including no-prep veneers that don’t require removing any natural tooth structure. However, it is important to understand that you must be evaluated by a dentist before choosing which — if any — veneer option is right for you. Our dentists will work to educate you on what cosmetic treatments are best to achieve your desired smile goals.
Caring For Your Veneers
Porcelain dental veneers are durable and easy to care for. Continue to brush and floss your teeth as you normally would. Make sure to keep seeing us every 6 months for a cleaning and exam. Your dentist will monitor your teeth, gums, and veneers for any possible issues. Even though they are very durable, eventually they may need to be replaced. How long your veneers last can be affected by bruxism (tooth grinding), tooth decay, gum disease, and staining caused by coffee/wine/darkly pigmented foods.

At Dental Minds, our office is in-network with many major PPO insurances. However, cosmetic care like porcelain dental veneers are not typically covered by every plan. Our front office staff will review your benefits and your expected out-of-pocket investment.
If you don’t have insurance, don’t worry. We offer flexible payment options and cash prices for all treatments.
